Temple Or Elohim, a community reform congregation, will present several exciting events for its congregation and the community at large in March.
The premier event will take place on Tuesday, March 10 (time to be determined), when they will host “Meet the Author, an evening with Steve Israel,” a former congress member, political commentator, author, and bookseller.
Israel will discuss his third book, “The Einstein Conspiracy,” a historical spy thriller based on actual events. This book details the 1930s Nazi plot to abduct Albert Einstein, who is believed to be the key to developing atomic weapons and how two FBI agents thwart the attempt. On Friday night, March 20, at 7:30 pm, their Second Annual Beatles Erev Shabbat Service, “Magical Mystery Torah” will be held. Prayers will be sung to the melodies of
famous Beatles songs with their in-house band, Nishamah providing live music.
Clergy and congregants will be wearing their favorite Beatles garb for this singing experience!
On Friday night, March 6, at 7:30 PM, their Annual Purim Shpiel will be performed during Erev Shabbat Service. This musical comedy based upon the Book of Esther
will feature parodies of Eagles songs. Clergy, congregants and guests attend in costume for this festive and entertaining evening.
