The real estate mogul and ex-reality TV star’s convincing win—garnering more than 50-percent of the votes—was not unexpected, with various polls predicting that Trump would drub his closest rival, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and distant challenger, Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
The protest was mostly peaceful until a large group of Trump fans that failed to enter the rally because the venue was at capacity started a counter-protest that prompted an hours-long standoff under the watchful eye of Nassau County police officers in riot gear and cops mounted on horseback.
Earlier in the day, Kasich had appeared at Hofstra University’s David S. Mack Student Center and visited Sagamore Hill, home of Theodore Roosevelt. At the town hall he told the audience he drew strength from TR’s example of “perseverance” in the face of opposition.
“Some people are using whatever they can in order to get attention in the media and to address a very limited group of voters within their party.”

Once again, big money will come pouring in from outside interests.
