I find it hard to accept Dr. Sirois’ statement that the $15.9 million overfunding of an employee account “had no adverse effect on the taxpayers.”
That amounts to well over $1,000 collected from each and every home in District 5, or in my case, about three to four years’ worth of school tax increases which I should not have paid. I would suggest that was an adverse effect.
Worse yet, the account was not even required and worse than that, according to your article, the money may not be recoverable.
Dr. Sirois has been in charge for a great many years.
Perhaps it is time for a change.
