Last Tuesday evening the Village of Farmingdale took a big step forward toward a bright future. After years of hard work the village board presented a master plan to revitalize downtown Farmingdale and guide the village into the future. Mayor Starkie and the village board deserve credit for reaching out and working together with local elected leaders but more importantly, for involving the community on this historic process.
I want to commend the hard work and commitment of the village revitalization committee. Each of these members of our community volunteered their nights and weekends, worked countless hours and dedicated part of their lives toward building a better future for the Village of Farmingdale. Please take a moment to thank each of these true community leaders when you see them – they deserve our gratitude.

I am proud to have been able to provide a piece of what has become a whole greater than the individual parts. Through the bipartisan work of New York State, Nassau County and the Village of Farmingdale, local leaders and members of the community have been able to come together and deliver a promising outlook for the future of this great village.
