1863 Thanksgiving
Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Round Swamp Rd., Old Bethpage, will celebrate an “1863 Thanksgiving” Nov. 21 and 22 and Nov. 28 and 29 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Visitors to the re-created 19th-century village will be able to enjoy the sights and smells of an old-fashioned Thanksgiving as wood-burning stoves, beehive stoves, beehive ovens and hearths are used to prepare foods and baked goods made from 19th-century recipes. The culinary exhibits include the “spitting” and roasting of turkey in a tin reflector oven beside the Williams House hearth and preparation of pies at the Powell House. OBVR will also display 19th-century methods of food preservation employed for late fall crops. Historical period music will be played, while at the Noon Inn, children’s stories will be read several times each day. Call 572-8400.
Multi-Family Garage Sale
A large multi-family garage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22 at 147 Whitney St., Westbury (one block east of Carle Place High School).

LI Cross Country Ski Club
Meeting at the Plainview/Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Rd., at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served and some small gifts exchanged by members during the first part of the evening. Shop ‘Til You Drop Gift Fair
The DECA Club is sponsoring its Annual “Shop ‘Til You Drop” Gift Fair at the JFK Plainview/ Old Bethpage HS from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Over 85 vendors are expected, displaying unique and elegant gifts as well as one of a kind hand-crafted items. Beautiful designer jewelry, home décor, gift baskets, soft sculpture, fashion accessories and more will be featured there.
