Winter Computer Classes For Seniors
If Santa brought you a new computer and you need some help, you can start off the New Year by registering for computer classes. EAC’s SeniorNet Computer Learning Centers in Hempstead and New Hyde Park are offering computer classes Jan. 12 and Feb. 2. The classes are for people who have never used a computer before as well as the more experienced user. Volunteer instructors and coaches make learning fun. Imagine sending emails to grandchildren, chatting with friends in other states and learning to edit and organize digital photos. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
The new program will offer a series of exercises designed by experts at the Arthritis Foundation and will be led by Merav deGuzman, Engage Life Director at Atria Plainview. Certified instructors of the class must successfully complete a training workshop and be certified in CPR. The class will be held for 8 consecutive weeks beginning today at noon. New Hebrew School Complimentary Class
Open to the community. Manetto Hill Jewish Center announces “Jewish Holiday Happenings,” a new Hebrew school class for children in grades 1 and 2. This complimentary class will be offered Wednesday afternoons from 5:30 until 6 p.m. The Jewish holidays, Shabbat and more will be discussed. Call the synagogue office to register at 935-5454.

Irish Family History Forum
Presents a talk by Meldon J. Wolfgang III, “Sleuthing in the Stacks: Using Uncommon Resources to Uncover Genealogical Clues.” This presentation will introduce researchers to a host of valuable reference tools and finding aids that can be successfully used by genealogists and family historians of all experience levels, and especially by those who have come up against that research brick wall. Resources regularly used by researchers in other disciplines but rarely used by genealogists are explored and suggestions are given for conducting a successful secondary literature search. There will be a Help Session at 10 a.m. Lecture 11 a.m. at the Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Ave., Bethpage. Everyone welcome.
