Letter: Rita and Bob Hesse Support Mayor Lud Odierna

We are writing a letter to our neighbors in the Village of Williston Park recommending the re-election of Mayor Lud Odierna. We have known Lud Odierna for more than 30 years and we respect him. His decision to run again shows Lud’s positive commitment to our community. Our community has improved tremendously since Mayor Odierna was elected in 2006. The village has raised its bond rating from A to AA. Village grants were received from numerous federal, state and county officials who worked with our mayor and his staff. Taxes have been kept to a minimum and our village veteran’s exemption now includes the Cold War veterans. Grants were also secured to improve our village library and for our fire department. A garbage truck, through the Williston Park Department of Public Works, was able to be purchased at auction at a great savings to the village. We saw our Little League field improve, a 9/11 Memorial and a new updated playground in another local park. The Roger Fay pool received a new slide to the enjoyment of the children and our gazebo was dedicated, as well in the name of former Mayor Thomas Muldoon. Mayor Odierna works diligently with the Nassau County Third Precinct and the Neighborhood Watch in keeping abreast of any criminal activities as well as passing laws with the board on holding owner of premises responsible for any wrongdoings. Further, the shoppers and residents can enjoy more parking spaces to visit our merchants and restaurants due to a change in parking regulations at the LIRR lot. Bob and I both attend the village monthly meetings and we see how Mayor Odierna continues to listen and communicate with the residents. The village must be guided through this present economy. Happiness is living in Williston Park so let’s continue with this progress and vote for The Representative Party that includes Mayor Lud Odierna and trustees Susan Redding and Kevin Rynne on March 16.
