In the March 5 issue of the Levittown Tribune the Levittown Property Owners Association’s meeting minutes contained a report that the Levittown School Board would be considering a budget for the coming year that would call for an increase in taxes of 4 or 5 percent.
It is time to say no to the local educators and to the state education department: “No increase in taxes! Make do with what you have.”
That’s what the rest of us have to do. Many are out of work; many of those who are working will get no raises. The feds, the state, the county, the MTA are all in debt. There was no increase in Social Security this year. It is time for the taxpayers to say: Enough. Find a way.
