High Tea

The 7th Annual High Tea will be held on April 17 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 1000 Washington Ave., at 3 p.m. Gather friends together, come and enjoy delicious scones, tiny tea sandwiches and sweet treats. Learn all about this extraordinarily gentle method that literally resolves all the stress, tension, distortions, and traumas from your body and mind. Learn how this care helps resolve a variety of acute and chronic stress conditions and live with much more peace, passion, authenticity and great health. •April 8: P.E.E.R Counseling Emotional Release Group. P.E.E.R. (Primary Emotional Energy Recovery) is a powerful process that helps people connect and release trapped emotions in order to free yourself from issues that have blocked you from creating the life you want. Benefits include relief from old emotions, gaining essential life skills, improve your relationships and find more peace in your body and mind. $40. 8 p.m.

•Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family. •POB Senior Citizen Club meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays in the All-Purpose Room at the Jamaica Avenue School, 85 Jamaica Ave. For information call 937-6424. The club offers trips, cruises, parties, social and line dancing, art courses for all levels, craft classes, card games, bingo, horseracing, yoga, education programs, etc. Members must be 60 years or older, residing in the POB S.D. are eligible. •Italian Culture Society at Farmingdale meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at Ellsworth W. Allen Park, Motor Ave. Italian lessons are given by a native Italian teacher. •Introduction to Chemotherapy, a monthly information session for cancer patients who are beginning chemotherapy treatments. Family members are welcome. Refreshments served. Nurses with special training, dietitians and other professionals present information that can help individuals understand, and cope with, the effects of chemotherapy treatments. There is also an opportunity to share information with others who may have been through similar situations. •Green Living Seminars, a series hosted by Starflower Experiences at 7 p.m. at the Melville Branch of the Half Hollow Hills Library, 510 Sweet Hollow Rd., directly across from the Sunquam Elementary School (between Route 110 and Old Country Rd.).
