The Friends of Mercy Medical Center will hold their 29th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, July 26 at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City.
The event will honor Stephen McLoughlin —vice president of Command Financial in Manhattan, longtime resident of Rockville Centre, and past president of The Friends— for his many years of service to the Medical Center and many other community organizations including the St. Agnes Fathers Club and Sacred Heart Academy.
The Golf Classic this year is again co-chaired by Joseph and Thomas Graham of Rockville Centre, co-founders of JJT Energy, a firm supplying natural gas to the commercial and residential market. The principal sponsor again is Neurological Surgery, P.C., the largest private neurosurgery practice on Long Island and in the New York Tri-state area.
The proceeds from this year’s event will support the acquisition of new state-of-the-art diagnostic cardiology equipment. Over the past five years, the Friends have raised nearly $1.5 million to support hospital facilities, including new digital mammography equipment in the Women’s Imaging Center; enhancement of the medical center’s Emergency, Trauma and Express Care facilities, including a new Express Care radiology suite; and the 2006 completion of the hospital’s state-of-the-art North Pavilion.
