Laughter Yoga in New Hyde Park

At “Spinner’s Grinners” Laughter Yoga Club, members take part in  a series of laughter, breathing and playfulness exercises with many, many health benefits.  You don’t have to be happy, you don’t have to be funny, you don’t even need a sense of humor!  Everyone can do this!  No joke!  We will not be lying on the floor and no knowledge of yoga is necessary.  All activities are done either sitting or standing.  We meet twice per month, usually on a Thursday night (for approx. 1 hr, 10 min.).  Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp.   Next meeting:  Thursday, June 24, 2010.  First time try-out charge:  $7.00.  Flexible membership options available.  To attend the laughter yoga club and for further details, contact Rosanne T. The Herricks School Board will hold its regular meeting at 7:15 p.m. at the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park.

Senator Johnson to Hold Mobile Office Hours in Williston Park

Senator Craig M. Johnson, will be sponsoring upcoming mobile office hours in the Village of Williston Park Public Library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The mobile office hours program, which was started soon after the senator’s election to the state senate, is designed to make it easier for residents to bring their concerns, suggestions and ideas to Senator Johnson’s office. By coming to you, my staff and I are seeking to make it easier to bring your issues to our attention,” Senator Johnson said.Information on a variety of topics, including, what to do before you enter the hospital, motor vehicle rights, choosing the right college, and lowering prescription costs will also be available. The Williston Park Public Library is situated at 494 Willis Ave # B, Williston Park.No appointments are necessary. Cellini Lodge to Hold Mad Hatter’s Happy Un-Birthday Party

At 7 p.m. at Marcus Christ Hall, on the grounds of New Hyde Park Village Hall, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, the New Hyde Park Cellini Lodge No. 2206, will hold a Mad Hatter’s Happy Un-Birthday Party. Admission is one nicely wrapped gift per person (value of $5 or more) to be collected at the door. To include: Heroes, salads, soda, water, variety of flavored hot tea, coffee and un-birthday cake. At 7 p.m. Maspeth Savings Bank will sponsor the band entitled Parrot Beach who specializes in musical tribute to Jimmy Buffet. Just bring a chair or blanket and enjoy. Memorial Park is located off New Hyde Park Road on Lincoln Avenue and Wilton Street.
