Antique Car Show

Featuring a display from the Model A Ford Club of Long Island. This club is a group of people whose members are devoted to restoring, preserving and enjoying Model A Fords. Model A’s were manufactured for only four years – 1928 to 1931, so it’s a treat to get to see them up close. Admission is free. Refreshments will be sold. Outdoors, rain or shine. (there will be some cover if it rains). 3 to 5 p.m. at Atria Plainview, 12 Washington Ave.

Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School

Hicksville United Methodist Church, 130 W. Old Country Rd., Hicksville, invites all children to Galactic Blast: A Cosmic Adventure Praising God Vacation Bible School. Board the spaceship Galactic Praise to see the awesome universe (and God) in a whole new way. The fun begins July 26 and ends July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. Each Galactic Mission begins with a Bible Story in the Good New Galaxy, along with science activities at the Orbital Observatory, music at Moon & Tune, art projects at Cosmic Crafts, games at Rocket Rev and a snack at the Astro Bistro. Bereavement Support Group

Good Shepherd Hospice is holding Bereavement Support Group meetings for those experiencing the loss of a spouse beginning today. This program will run for eight consecutive weeks and will be held at the Catholic Health Services office complex, 245 Old Country Rd., Melville on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This group is open to those 60 and under experiencing the loss of a spouse and is free of charge. It offers support during this painful time of trying to cope with your loss. Concert in the Park

The Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra featuring conductor Louis Panacciulli will perform an outdoor concert of the best in popular and light classical music. Joining the Pops are singers Jack and Ann Cassin who will present their favorite selections from Broadway. 8 p.m. at Plainview/Old Bethpage Park, Washington Ave., Plainview. Admission is free. Chinese American Night at Eisenhower Park

Co-hosted by the Chinese Center of LI and the NC Department of Parks and Recreation will be co-hosting its annual Chinese American Night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. This annual event has always been a cool family summer event for people who enjoy Chinese culture for last 23 years. Performances will include: CCLI Chinese lion dancing, Golden Fortune Acrobats, Hsu-Nami Rock Band, Wushu martial arts, Cao Bao An Chinese Orchestra, Heroes Men’s quartet and CCLI Chinese Folk Dance Company. Pre-show activities will begin at 6 p.m., including hands-on arts and crafts for children, learning Mah Jong and Chinese chess, Chinese musicians on the lawn, Chinese calligraphy, origami and more. Bring your lawn chairs and come to enjoy a delightful evening. Free admission and parking, all are welcome. Held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, Parking Fields 6 and 6A. Polo Match

The First Annual Polo Match to benefit children and adults with disabilities will be held from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Polo Club in Brookville. The fundraising event, hosted by the National Foundation for Human Potential, will raise funds for therapeutic riding for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities and disabled veterans. The family event will include an Argentinean style BBQ, sponsored by Mojave, wine, tango demonstration and the international spectator sport of polo. •Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family. •Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Chorus welcomes new members. Meetings are held Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the choral room of POB Middle School. All voices are needed and no experience is necessary. Rehearsals run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. For information call 931-4377 or 935-6243.

•Young Adult Drug Addiction Group offered by the Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Community Program, 950 S. Oyster Bay Rd., Suite 102. For people 18 to 21 who are recovering from drug addiction. The goals are to enhance skills, increase self-awareness and work toward a drug and alcohol-free life. •Senior Citizen Lunch Program. Nassau County provides a lunch program for seniors 60+, who live in Nassau County. The donation is $3. The lunch is held at the Jamaica Avenue School, 85 Jamaica Ave. Reservations must be called in by Wednesday at 937-6424.

•POB Senior Citizen Club meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays in the All-Purpose Room at the Jamaica Avenue School, 85 Jamaica Ave. For information call 937-6424. The club offers trips, cruises, parties, social and line dancing, art courses for all levels, craft classes, card games, bingo, horseracing, yoga, education programs, etc. Members must be 60 years or older, residing in the POB S.D. are eligible. Bring school tax bill as proof of residency. Dues is $15. New members welcome.

•Speak Easy: A Toastmasters Club. Can help you conquer your fear of public speaking. In Bethpage, Northrop Grumman Toastmasters meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 5:45 p.m. in Northrop Grumman Building 5, South Oyster Bay Rd., Bethpage. Call Brian 346-7516.

•Meet the Doctors. Focusing on education, Premiere OBGYN will sponsor a Meet the Doctors program on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at 79 Froelich Farm Blvd., Woodbury. Women who are planning a pregnancy or are already expecting can join Drs. Prince, Brooks and Flynn and have their questions answered on conception and a safe pregnancy.

•Alzheimer’s Support Group. Are you a caregiver who would like to share your experience with others? There is strength in knowing you are not alone. •Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) was founded in 1978, is congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA Chapter #82 is your Nassau County Chapter and meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. at Hicksville’s VFW Hall. •Golf for Singles Adults, a group of 50 + single seniors meet the third Tuesday of every month, at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Sunnyside Blvd., Exit 46 off the LIE, Plainview. For info call 942-4228. The group plays on courses, mostly in Suffolk on the weekends as well as during the week.

•Italian Culture Society at Farmingdale meets the last Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at Ellsworth W. Allen Park, Motor Ave. Italian lessons are given by a native Italian teacher. •Central Oyster Bay Democratic Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the community room at the Nutty Irishman, 323 Main St., in the Village of Farmingdale. All are welcome to attend. The club serves the communities of Farmingdale, North Massapequa, Plainedge, Bethpage, Old Bethpage, Plainview and Farmingdale State University. •Introduction to Chemotherapy, a monthly information session for cancer patients who are beginning chemotherapy treatments. Family members are welcome. Refreshments served. •Green Living Seminars, a series hosted by Starflower Experiences at 7 p.m. at the Melville Branch of the Half Hollow Hills Library, 510 Sweet Hollow Rd., directly across from the Sunquam Elementary School (between Route 110 and Old Country Rd.). •LI Tourette Syndrome Association Support groups for those who have family members or other loved ones with Tourette Syndrome meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month at the DeMatteis Center, north side of Northern Blvd., Old Brookville (directly opposite the NY Institute of Technology campus). There are three separate support groups running simultaneously: one group for children, one for teens and one for parents/adults. Siblings of TS children are also invited. Free for LI-TSA members.
