Rich Reynolds Knows Oyster Bay
Rich Reynolds said in an email responding to the Sept. 23 mystery picture, “It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but I’m going to guess that this is the interior of the Sagamore Yacht Club. You can see their “Million Dollar View” through the window.”
Mr. Reynolds currently lives in Niskayuna, NY. He is of course correct, especially about the view.
Greg Van Dyke also called saying, “It’s the Sagamore Yacht Club upstairs room. I know because I remodeled the room. I did the renovation. The rug used to be in our dining room and I gave it to them. My wife gave me hell, but it looks nice.” Mr. Van Dyke is known for his generosity to the community as well as his love of boating.
Billy Minicozzi called to guess it was a mansion in Centre Island. It was close – the Sagamore Yacht Club is looking out at mansions on Centre Island. Billy is still hoping the Jets win the SuperBowl.
And, speaking of the Sagamore Yacht Club, it was the site of the Friends of Sagamore Hill gala where they unveiled some of the treasures hidden/stored away in the basement of Sagamore Hill. It was a lovely event. More of that later. There is always so much going on in Oyster Bay!
