7 Steps to Employment Success
Need help finding a job? Molloy College will be offering a free seminar, 7 Steps to Employment Success. Career coach/motivational speaker, Michael Coritsidis, will present a common sense approach to the job search. His program will help you achieve your goals through effective resume writing, professional interview techniques, a follow-up system and more. This seminar will give you a basic understanding of his “7 Step” program. 6:30 p.m. at Molloy College, Wilbur Arts Center, Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre. Free Workshop for Breast Cancer Patients
Getting Organized, One Room at a Time is a free workshop for breast cancer patients from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Adelphi University, Alumni House, 154 Cambridge Ave. Everyone would like a more organized home but the prospect of tackling the whole house can be overwhelming. Participants will learn some easy strategies that will help them make each room of their house clutter-free and more functional, one room at a time. Speaker Marguerite Barone, a professional organizer who has an extensive background in education and administration as well as local government. This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the LI2Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. Preregistration is required for all workshops. Call 877-4325.

Free Breast Cancer Support Groups
New support groups are being offered by the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program. Groups are held at Adelphi University School of Social Work in Garden City. There is no cost for any group, however, preregistration is required. Call Sandi Kafenbaum 877-4314 or the Breast Cancer Hotline at 800-877-8077:
•For women newly diagnosed and/or in treatment, a group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tentatively beginning on Jan. 19.
•A group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Mondays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. tentatively beginning Jan. 24.
•A group for single women with breast cancer will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 19.
•A post-treatment group will meet weekly for 8 weeks on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 19.
•The Close Knit Group, a knit and talk group for women with breast cancer, meets from 2:30 to 4 pm. on the first Monday of each month.
•Other groups for couples, spouses/partners, women with metastatic breast cancer and men with breast cancer are available upon request.
Defensive Driving Courses
Conducted by the AAA NY in the Garden City office located at 229 Seventh St. Save money; reduce violation points; sharpen skills.
