At the last meeting of the New Hyde Park/Garden City Park School Board the school board approved the appointment of Frank Cataleno as a Maintainer. He was present at the meeting and had a chance to be introduced by the board.
The following teachers received Reclassification of Teachers Salary Schedule. They are: Regina O’Keefe, Jennifer Naughton, Sheryl Posner, Eileen Prymaczek, Deborah Ryan, Patricia Saanski, Annie Schneider, Bridget Balducci, Lillian Buccella, Maria Colton, Julie Croshere, Jana Fishkind, Leticia Hauser, Kathleen Heenan, Lara Holtzkamp, Ann Johnson, Janet Keinert, Kelly Setiadi, Janine Sheehan, Nanette Stepanian, Paul Vecchiarelli, Georgette Vosseler, Carol Weiss, Stephanie Wise and Elizabeth Powers.
The board also approved New Hyde Park/Garden City Park Superintendent Robert Katulak to travel to San Francisco, California to attend the ASCD Conference from March 24 to March 28, 2011.
The board also approved the renewal of the board to continue its membership in the National School Boards Association for the 2011 calendar year at a fee of $2, 875.
The board also approved the attendance of board trustee Patricia Rudd as the Long Island representative of the New York State School Boards Association for the Federal Relations Network Conference in Washington, D.C from February 6 through Feb. 8, 2011. The conference registration will be paid for by the New York State School Boards Association. The district will pay for the additional expenses up to $1,000 for travel, lodging and food.

The board also approved the Hillside Grade School and the Garden City Park Grade School sixth grade trips to Medieval Times.
Request for an Additional
Superintendent Conference Day for Scoring
The board approved a change in the 2010-’11 calendar by adding an additional Superintendent’s Conference Day on May 18 to be used for the scoring of the New York State ELA and Math Tests.
The next school board meeting will be held on Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Manor Oaks School, 1950 Hillside Avenue, New Hyde Park.
