New Hyde Park Receives Blanket of Blizzard Snow the day after Christmas and New Hyde Park was given the gift of a blizzard of enormous proportions. However, the village  went into high gear and quickly and efficiently cleared all the main roads and side roads. Working day and night the Department of Public Works made sure every road in the village was passable.
