92-Year-Old Kills 98-Year-Old Spouse

After over 70 years of marriage, a 92-year-old woman will be standing trial for allegedly murdering her 98-year-old spouse.

The Sun-Herald reported Clara Tang has been charged with both stabbing and bludgeoning her husband to his death. The murder occurred in their Sydney, Australia home last year.

Cops found Tang soaked in blood after stabbing Ching Yung Tang two times in the stomach and clobbering his head. She was arrested at the scene.

According to her lawyers, Tang suffers from dementia and was afraid her husband was poisoning her. Tang pleaded not guilty due to mental illness.

Tang was originally denied bail as a result of “the level of violence” in the murder, but was eventually admitted into a nursing home.

Before they moved to Australia 30 years ago, court papers reveal the couple lived through the Japanese invasion of China and Mao’s Cultural Revolution.
