The space shuttle Endeavour will head into outer space for the last time on Friday afternoon. As of Thursday evening, plans for the shuttle launch are still on for 3:47 p.m. Eastern Time.
Endeavor will launch from the Kennedy Space Center. This is the shuttle’s 25th mission, and a historic event.
NASA is expecting nearly a million people to show up for the launch, including President Obama and his family.
Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords will also attend the launch. Giffords’ husband, Mark Kelly, is commanding the Endeavor mission.
The launch will be streamed live on Friday on NASA TV and at NASA.gov.
