LV Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team Makes LI Metro School Girls Team 

Congratulations to three members of the Locust Valley Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team for making the Long Island-Metro School Girls Team: junior- Courtney Boyd; sophomore- Taylor Bleistein; and sophomore- Bairre Reilly.

Last Sunday, May 1 they participated in a highly competitive evaluation for the national team that sends three Long Island teams to compete in the National Tournament. The Women’s Division National Tournament will take place Long Island on May 28 and 29 at Stony Brook University and Ward Melville High School.

Now in its 78th year, this storied and historic tournament features regional high school girl’s lacrosse games and US National Team competition. This event attracts over 1,500 of the best competitors nationwide from every realm of women’s lacrosse as well as over 2,500 spectators.

This is a major recruiting tournament and it is a great honor to make the team.  Division I Coaches will again be joining DII and III coaches in recruiting at the National Tournament.  There were over 200 girls who participated in the try out which made for a very competitive day.

The Women’s Division National Tournament began in 1933 as a tournament to showcase the best post-collegiate and club women’s lacrosse players. Since that time, it has grown into one of the largest and most renowned women’s lacrosse events in the nation and features over 75 teams in three levels of play including high schools.
