IPhone 5: Bold New Look

Apple Inc. will introduce the new and improved iPhone 5 this September and fans of Apple Inc. are swooning for more information. For now insiders leaked a sneak peak at the product. The iPhone 5 is said to be equipped with a stronger chip for processing data and a more advanced camera.

According to Bloomberg News, the device will also include the A5 processor. The A5 processor is currently used in the iPad 2. The iPhone 5 is rumored to also have an 8-megapixel camera, compared to the iPhone 4’s 5-megapixel camera.

Accounting for half of last quarter’s revenue the iPhone is Apple’s top selling product. A faster chip in the iPhone 5 will make it much quicker when it comes to loading programs. The iPhone 5 will run with the iOS 5 operating system which was demonstrated at a developer’s conference this month.

The new operating system which is to be released at the same time as the iPhone 5 is designed to improve messaging as well has photo-sharing. It is also able to run on all of Apple’s mobile devices.

Although it has great popularity, Apple has not kept up with Google’s smart phone market. According to IDC research in Framingham, Massachusetts while Apple’s iPhone is projected to account for 18.2 percent of the global smart phone market, 38.9 percent of the market is dominated by Android.

Apple is also rumored to be working on a cheaper version of the iPhone which they could market to people in developing countries and people of lower income. The level of quality is said to coincide with that of the iPhone 4.

People speculate the design of the iPhone 5 is subject to change. Some suggest that the new iPhone may resemble the iPod touch and have a sensor-like home button.
