Zwanger Pesiri Radiology beat Barco Construction 13-5 Friday on the 90-foot field. Defense was the key to this victory, starting with Tommy Dittmeier’s spectacular running catch in left center early in the game.
Later, it was shortstop John Hernandez and pitcher Brian Tinney who were flashing the leather in the field. Tinney snared at least three potential hits headed up the middle.
Hernandez played hurt and still showed great range. The offense was sparked by a Dittmeier three-run blast and a series of clutch two out RBI hits by Tinney, Gene Hennigan and Anthony Nicolich.
For the night, Jerry Mazza had three hits and scored all three times. Marc Fischer also had another strong game with three hits. Hernandez, Ira Berger, Nicolich, Hennigan and Tinney all had two hits each.
Special thanks to Pete and Cathy Mendelson for hosting the post-game festivities. It was a nice win and an even better team gathering after.
