Who doesn’t remember “Bridalplasty” the short-lived E! show that took brides from plain to plastic-surgery perfect.
Well as shocking as the show seemed, a plastic surgeon says it’s a growing trend. Newport Beach-based Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tenley Lawton has seen firsthand the growing trend of soon-to-be-brides turning to cosmetic surgery to help create the “perfect” look for a bride’s wedding day.
“Brides are spending anywhere between $200-$12,000 on procedures to help them feel and look their best on their wedding day,” said Dr. Lawton in a statement.
Among the most sought after procedures includes Botox/Juvederm, breast augmentation, body sculpting and rhinoplasty. For brides-to-be it’s not as simple as scheduling a surgery the week before the wedding. The surgeon advises the importance of planning ahead when considering a bridal procedure.
“Typically, for most cosmetic procedures, it takes about six months before final results are seen,” she said. “What is most important is a woman has a realistic outlook on cosmetic surgery. They need to remember their future husband loves them the way they are. A little enhancement is one thing, but be cautious not to over-do it.”
Dr. Lawton has launched a new bridal consulting program, offering brides a complimentary consultation ($150 value).
