Early Saturday, September 3, Carey Sutton of Garden City was seen pushing a shopping cart down Old Country Rd and Grayston St in Westbury.
The cart Sutton was pushing was marked “Navy Exchange” and reportedly contained various items including an antique brass fire fighting Navy fog nozzle, two antique brass fire nozzles and an antique brass hose holder. Police investigated Sutton and his suspicious cart and determined that the items were stolen from a storage area owned by Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center in Garden City.
Sutton, 57, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Grand Larceny, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He will be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
