Central Islip Woman Arrested For DWI

Woman arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated Saturday.

According to Nassau County Police, a Central Islip woman, Ana R. Gonzalez, 43, was observed driving in the parking lot of Burlington Coat Factory on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa at around 11:27 p.m. with a 6-year-old child standing in the rear seat. The observing officer stopped the vehicle and discovered two additional children, 7 and 2-years-old, restrained in child protective seats in the back of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, Gonzalez was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol, reported police.

She was arrested and is charged with three counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra Law, three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Driving While Intoxicated.  She will be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.

The children were uninjured and released to a family friend.
