Katherine Heigl leaves romantic comedies behind for “One For The Money.”
The first “One For The Money” trailer has hit the web this week and shows Heigl in a different light.
“One For The Money” stars Heigl who, according to Hollywood Reporter, stars as Plum, an accidental bond-enforcement agent from New Jersey.
The actress takes on a bad girl role when she is fired from her job at Macy’s and has her car taken away from her. She soon takes on a surprisingly dangerous career after convincing her cousin to give her a job. As an agent, Plum reportedly takes on a case of a murder suspect, Joe Morelli who’s played by Jason O’Mara, a former high school flame of Heigl’s. He isn’t the only love interest, she also works with Ranger, a hunky recovery agent played by Daniel Sunjata.
The movie is directed by Julie Anne Robinson and comes as an adaptation of Janet Evanovich’s mystery-romance series. One For the Money is the first novel by Evanovich featuring Stephanie Plum, a bonds agent. It was published in 1994 and is a long-time best-seller, appearing for 75 consecutive weeks on the USA Today list of 150 best-selling novels.
“One For The Money” hits theaters January 27.
