Chris Cooley, the tight end for the Washington Redskins, apparently enjoys the misery of the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo.
Cooley had a lot to say about Romo’s meltdown against the Detroit Lions on LaVar and Dukes show. According to deadspin.com Chris said, “It’s amazing, amazing to watch him choke like that.”
Cooley added to the rivalry saying “I’m just saying, I’m up 24 points in the third quarter, if I’m the head coach, I feel like I could probably just take a knee for the rest of the game, punt it away and there’s no way that Detroit’s gonna drive on you that many times. The only way you’re gonna give up that many points is turnovers, right? It’s hilarious to watch him throw pick sixes, too, back-to-back. I loved it.”
So did all the other Cowboy haters out there.
Cooley is doing plenty of talking but the Redskins already lost to the Cowboys 18-16 two weeks ago. Romo threw for 255 yards against the Redskins defense, but didn’t allow any interceptions.
During the show they asked Cooley about how long would it take to finish Romo off in a classic steel-cage format.
“For me to beat Tony? I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what kind of cage fighting skills he has,” Cooley said. “I would probably try to incorporate my wrestling ability, like when I was in high school. Obviously it’s been a while, but I didn’t like to beat people fast. I like to embarrass ’em a little bit. Like, take a 24-point lead, and then just play with it a little bit.”
Just incase you’re wondering, their next matchup is Nov. 20 at FedEX Field, so Cooley is sure to have some support.
