Manetto Hill Animal Hospital Hosts Paws 2 Love

On Sunday, Sept. 25, the skies cleared and the excitement mounted as The Manetto Hill Animal Hospital hosted their 2nd Annual Paws 2 Love Adoption Festival and Benefit. The overwhelming support of the community poured out into the streets of Manetto Hill Road, as crowds came in to view the adoptable pets.

Over a dozen homeless animals found homes that very day. Many attendees also filled out applications for potential adoptions in the future.

“We knew that this was going to be a huge success when our first adoption took place before the festival had even begun. We are so proud of the energy and spirit that the festival brought out in our community,” said Dr. Neil Weiss, owner of the Manetto Hill Animal Hospital.

Over thirty shelter and rescue dogs and cats were hosted at the Animal Hospital’s Pet Hotel during the festival. The community enjoyed a great day with live music, exhibitions and lots of children’s activities. “Our goal was to bridge together the shelters and the rescue groups with the local public, many of whom would have been hesitant to find their way into a local shelter. Our expectations were exceeded,” said Weiss.

A true meet-and-greet between attendees and rescue organizations went on throughout the day. The festival’s goal was also to raise money for these rescue organizations that support these adoptive animals. Over fifty local businesses, including Sleepy’s, Oheka Castle, and the Garden City Hotel, donated raffle prizes and services in support of this very worthy cause.

The Manetto Hill Animal Hospital hopes to continue hosting this event annually until there is no more need for rescue organizations and shelters to exist; the main objective of the event is, and will continue to be, promoting awareness of the many forgotten dogs and cats in need.
