Denver Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn hasn’t taken a snap in the past two years and has been unable to inspire coaches to give him another starting gig. So even if he isn’t the best at his position, he did, however, earn a “best” award from somebody close to him.
Quinn’s girlfriend, gymnast Alicia Sacramone, tweeted that the former Notre Dame QB is using his time wisely and took a flight out of Denver to be with her during surgery after she ruptured her Achilles tendon while in Tokyo preparing for the world championships.
“Best boyfriend award goes to@BQ9 for taking the red eye from Denver to be here for my surgery today,” she tweeted. “Just another reason why I love him.”
That’s cute.
Meanwhile, some were wondering why coach John Fox replaced Kyle Orton with Tim Tebow on Sunday instead of going with Quinn. Tebow tried his best to lead the Broncos over the Chargers, but the team came up short.
Here was Tebow’s line after Sunday’s game: 4-for-10 passing, 79 yards, 1 touchdown, 38 yards rushing, and 1 rushing TD.
Even after the team fell to the Chargers, Broncos fans were still giddy that Tebow was on the field.
And now they will get to see much more of Tebow since he was named Broncos starting quarterback early Tuesday morning. According to the Denver Post, Broncos players were informed that Tebow would get the starting gig.
Now, the question is where is Brady Quinn in all of this? Is he the backup or is Orton?
And as for Sacramone, on Tuesday she announced on Twitter that her surgery went well.
