As the midpoint of the girls’ soccer season arrives we find the Lady Dragons of Division Avenue High School sitting atop Nassau County Conference One with an 8-0 record! The Dragons went to Southside High School on Monday, Oct. 3 to play for sole possession of first place. This game pitted two undefeated teams in an epic battle that was eventually won by the Lady Dragons 2-0.
Division is lead by seven seniors this season. Returning Nassau County All Stars are Susan Ballantyne, Joanna Capitelli, Maggie Carew, and Krista Fitzpatrick. Krista is leading Nassau County in assists while Maggie and Susan lead the team in goals scored. Joanna strengthens the midfield along with Paola Diaz, and Rachel Murdukhayev.
Courtney Boneillo is the only senior who plays in the best defense in the county.
As the second half of their season gets under way the Lady Dragons are working hard to try and capture their fourth conference title in a row!
