20111010115903ENPRNPRN1 GETMARRIED COM LOGO 1y 1318247943MR1GetMarried .com has just launched a fun new contest for brides called America’s Top Bride.

Starting October 10 through December 12, 2011, the wedding website will be asking visitors “What makes you America’s Top Bride?”  Both currently engaged and recently married brides will then be invited to create a short profile on www.GetMarried.com/americas-top-bride , with their $5,000 answer.

The brides will then enlist their friends and family to vote for them using their own social media accounts (The contest is designed so that ballots can be shared virally via Twitter and Facebook.). Voters are allowed to vote once a day, and the more you vote before the December 12 deadline, the better your chances of winning.

“We are thrilled to host a contest that rewards a very deserving bride, and thought it would be fun to open it up to the entire GetMarried.com community to lead the voting and ultimately decide who wins,” says Karina Timmel, editor-in-chief, Get Married magazine in a press release. “We can’t wait to read all of the brides’ commendable stories!”

Voters also have a chance to win a prize—throughout the nine weeks of the contest, six voters win $500 gift cards to Michaels.

Naturally, the bride with the most votes wins.

Registration and voting can be found at getmarried.com/americas-top-bride.
