Trojan spirit soared at the pre-Homecoming Pep Rally at Garden City High School on Friday, Oct. 14 as teams, many sporting special outfits and costumes for the event, took to the floor of the gymnasium to share their athletic accomplishments thus far. Along with the teams, the filled-to-capacity crowd of high school students and staff was entertained by the mile-high pyramid formations of the varsity cheerleaders, the synchronized Rockettes-style choreography of the Lady Trojans kickline squad, the musical prowess and precision marching of the marching band, and competitive games played among representatives from the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior classes. Not soon to be forgotten were high school science teacher Ralph D’Ambrosio’s demonstrations of chemical reactions in the form of exploding pumpkins and balloons.
The 2011 Pep Rally culminated with the crowning of this year’s Homecoming King and Queen, Nick Zawisha and Amanda Ferraro.
Thank you to all who contributed to making the 2011 high school Pep Rally such a success! Go Trojans!
