Spooky Walk Is Back at Clark Botanic Garden

With Halloween less than a week away, Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announce the approach of one of the town’s most popular events: The Spooky Week. For three terrifyingly, spooky nights, zombies, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, swamp monsters and a bunch of their gruesome buddies will rise up one last time, inducing screams on the 12-acre, smog-shrouded Zombie Containment Facility (Clark Botanic Garden). The first three days of the 2011 Spooky Walk—which may not be suitable for young children require that all minors be accompanied by an adult. On Thursday, Oct. 27, Friday Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 the Spooky Walk will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Entry fee is $5. The Not-so-Spooky Walk —suitable for children of all ages—takes place Sunday, Oct. 30 from noon to 4 p.m. The entry fee is $3. Boasting more than 12-acres of planted, beautifully-manicured grounds, under the careful eye of John Darcy, Clark Botanic Garden, located at 193 IU Willets Rd., Albertson, is as perfect a setting as any for North Hempstead’s ultra-popular four-day Halloween extravaganza.
