Retail giants are going from doorbusters to cyber frenzy with one of the biggest online shopping days of the year approaching.
Cyber Monday is celebrated by consumers who would rather cozy up next to a laptop and coffee Monday morning, instead of on busy lines filled with excited shoppers.
Some of the big retail stores are starting to release their Cyber Monday deals for Internet shoppers who like to have a game plan when they sit down next to their laptops.
Toys R Us said it’s giving away some freebies with some expensive purchases, and Macy’s will lower its free shipping policy for the first time, offering free delivery for purchases of at least $75. Shoppers will have to use a promo code for the advantage of free shipping, but there are some exceptions.
Both Macy’s and Toys R Us said cyber deals will start on Sunday. The toy store said online-only deals will go on for the week starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
“This Cyber Monday, we want to extend the convenience of shopping from home by providing additional savings a day early with offers starting on Sunday,” Peter Sachse, chairman and chief executive officer of macys.com, said in a statement. “The ability to shop earlier for even more incredible deals is another way Macy’s provides its customers with ways to save time and money during the busiest shopping season of the year.
