A man was arrested this weekend in connection with burglaries that had taken place since August.
According to police, between August 11, 2011 and December 21, 2011, two men, who were minors, and one man in his twenties were arrested for burglaries. An investigation into the burglaries led cops to determine that the stolen jewelry was turned over by the minors to 26-year-old Peter Cassaberry of Valley Stream. According to cops, Cassaberry would then sell the jewelry to second hand dealers and ultimately split the profit with his two young accomplices. Cops note that Cassaberry had possessed around $3,000 worth of jewelry.
Cassaberry was arrested Saturday at 3:59 p.m. in Valley Stream and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy, and Criminal Solicitation. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
