Singer Whitney Houston died this past weekend at 48-years-old.

Houston was found in her hotel room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton Saturday afternoon. 911 was called at around 3:45 p.m. and police were said to have been on the scene within minutes with paramedics already there, reportedly, because of a Grammy party.

The officials made unsuccessful attempts to revive the famous singer and she was pronounced dead minutes later at 3:55 p.m.

“Whitney Houston was pronounced dead that the scene by members of her entourage which included friends, co-workers, and family. Ms. Houston’s daughter and mother were notified of here death,” said Beverly Hills Police Department in a statement.

Kristen Foster, a publicist for Houston said the cause of death was unknown Saturday.

Reportedly, there were no signs of criminal intent though her body remained at the hotel and Beverly Hills detectives were investigating.

The actual cause of death will be determined by the L.A. Co. Coroner’s Office.

Following news of her death, fans of Whitney Houston gathered outside the iconic Apollo Theater in New York City in her memory.

Houston’s death was just one day shy of the Grammy Awards, a show that frequently honored her until her career took a backseat to alleged drug abuse and a tumultuous relationship with singer Bobby Brown.

“The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or my worst enemy,” Houston said in an interview with Diane Sawyer in 2002.

The Grammy Awards crew is reportedly currently scrambling to organize a tribute to the late singer with the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan and possibly Christina Auguilera performing.

Just days before her death, Houston was seen with ex-boyfriend rapper Ray J. The two were dining in Hollywood and seemed to be in good spirits though Ray J was seen buckling her into his car after the dinner.

Houston was also seen at a party before her death, where she had an intense run-in with X Factor contestant, Stacy Francis. Ray eventually stepped in to break up the potential tiff.

The following day, Houston reportedly conducted a rehearsal for the pre-Grammys party, a party that she would never make it to.
