Deadmau5 apparently has major beef with another dance artist and it was evident Sunday when he took it to the red carpet.
Deadmau5 walked the red carpet donning his famous mouse head but it was below the neck that was drawing the most attention, he was wearing his dear friend’s phone number on his shirt.
That’s right, Deadmau5 pulled the ultimate prank, sharing Skrillex’s phone number with the world.
“U mad bro?” read his shirt followed by Skrillex’s numbers.
The reason for the prank remains unknown, but we have a feeling it has to do with the intense Grammy Awards rivalry. The two were both up for Best Dance Recording, Best Dance/Electronica Album and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
The 24-year-old Californian Skrillex got the ultimate revenge when he beat out Deadmau5 at the awards show. He took home three awards for Best Dance Recording, Best Dance/Electronica Album and Best Remixed Recording.
The Grammy winner later took to Twitter to share his feelings on the prank. “Haha @deadmau5 just wore my phone number on his fokin shirt on tv gotta retire this phone,” Skrillex tweeted.
According to Access Hollywood, Skrillex attempted to prank back by rerouting the calls back to Deadmau5 but apparently it was too late.
The 31-year-old Canadian Deadmau5 took to Twitter to say, “Nice try with the call forwarding @skrillex 😉 one step ahead of you!” Deadmau5 did congratulate the winner, later tweeting “Ps. Congrats dude! Seriously, so rad!”
