Kate Upton is making headlines this week after she was crowned, the Sports Illustrated cover girl.
Earlier, an internet leak confirmed that the 19-year-old is indeed the 2012 Sports Illustrated cover girl, showing the golden haired model wearing a tiny red bikini on a beach in Sydney, Australia.
Upton has come a long way with the famous magazine, just last year she made her SI Swimsuit debut. She was named “Rookie of the Year” in the 2011 issue.
Upton was also named “The Woman of Summer” by Esquire in 2011.
The Michigan-born model told the New York Post earlier in the week she had no idea she would make the cover.
“All I can really say is that I’m in the issue,” she said before adding, “Fingers crossed!”
But besides the beautiful photo shoot gracing the SI pages, Upton is in the spotlight for another reason. Wednesday, Upton began making headlines again but this time it’s not about making the cover, instead it’s about her love live.
In the past few months, rumors were swirling that Upton had a football star boyfriend. She’s been romantically linked to New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Naturally, TMZ got to the bottom of the rumors during a recent street interview. A TMZ reporter got hold of Upton and asked her about the rumors swirling that she and Sanchez were indeed an item.
“Oh, what do you think?” she asked the TMZ reporter. TMZ pressed the issue, to which she responded, “I don’t know whatever you think” before running off.
