If this new trailer is to be believed, Andrew Garfield is bound to be an awesome Spider-man.

Peter Parker starts off the trailer by saying, “This life is not an easy one. I’ve made enemies, powerful enemies — put those I love in danger. But when your past is a mystery, how do you ever stop looking for the truth?”

And a voice answers him, “If you want the truth, Peter, come get it.”

The trailer leaves us with many questions but this seems to be what’s going on: there’s been a biological attack on New York City, Peter Parker is going to figure out some mysteries about his childhood and the audience will see him fall in love with a cute blonde played by Emma Stone. Not bad.

The drama toward the end of the trailer comes when one of the characters says to Peter Parker, “Do you think what happened to you, Peter, was an accident? Do you have any idea what you really are?”

The four-minute trailer features a cameo by C. Thomas Howell. He plays a father who may fall to his death because of the destruction The Lizard, played by Rhys Ifans, makes of the Williamsburg Bridge. Howell revealed, possibly accidentally, that The Lizard was going to be in “The Amazing Spider-Man.”

“Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now,” he told the website Movieweb last year. “I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker whose son is caught in the middle of a battle between The Lizard and Spider-Man on the [Williamsburg Bridge]. Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation.”

“Amazing Spider-Man” will be in theaters July 3.
