Weather held for EcoFest held by Town of North Hempstead
In the beautiful setting of Clark Botanic Garden, under the green thumb of John Darcy, the Town of North Hempstead held its EcoFest 2012.
In various areas of the garden there was really something for everyone. There was a large craft tent, which was a huge draw for all the children because they were giving away plastic snakes to draw on. All afternoon children walked by holding their colorful plastic snakes.
Next attraction, if you so desired, was Transformations-Painted Faces, Living Art, complete with rather spooky music in the background. Christopher Agostino was doing the painting and he painted each child’s face so much so that there was no part of them, except their eyes, nose and mouth that wasn’t painted.
Back at the Town of North Hempstead show mobile was Kimberly Corcoran Galante with band members of “Strumming ‘n Drumming.” Galante was in charge of entire event and later in the afternoon husband Joseph brought their adorable little girl to the festivities.
Also on hand was Erik, of Erik’s Reptile Adventures with his trusty pythons. One of them was even wrapped around adorable little Iyanna Kaiman’s neck, which was kinda scary, but her dad North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman was with her every second, just to make sure she was safe.
Kaiman also greeted the very festive members of Red Cloud Dancers and spent some time with them prior to their performance.
Even in the parking lot there was a little sand box for the very young and they had a wonderful time digging and sifting sand.
A fun time was had by all.
