John F. Kennedy High School DECA students declared finalists in national competition
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District announced that eight John F. Kennedy High School (POBJFK) DECA teams were recently named finalists at the International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over 50 students from POBJFK competed at the conference, which was attended by 12,000 students and advisors from across the world.
In order to be selected for the final round of competition, students had to deliver several presentations over the course of five days. Plainview Old-Bethpage DECA was very successful, with several teams outscoring hundreds of competitors to achieve finalist recognition.

-Rob Hymowitz, Ben Delshad and Tomer Katz: Sports and Entertainment Operations Research
Top 10 Finalists:
-Adam Gabalski: Principles of Marketing
-Eileen Koh: Entrepreneurship Participating-Franchise
-Zachary Loeb: Learn and Earn
-Josh Fried, David Ehrlich and Jena Stark: Hospitality Operations Research
-Erin Gross, Samara Korowitz and Perri Monchik: Sports and Entertainment Operations Research
-Dani Ragin, Bradley Kass and Jordan Sklar: Business Services Operations research
The district also honored Melissa Benenson, Rebecca Breier and Allison Giosa, who placed third in the public relations competition out of approximately 140 teams in their category.
The district congratulated all the students who competed, along with their advisors, Lindsay Mandell and Jennifer Santorello, as well as chaperones Joanne Flores, Sharon Lasher, Paige Tyree and John Reynolds who helped to make the competition a success for the district.
