A fight between a young couple in a car eventually escalated to the violent and surreal ending-with projectile, sauce-covered pants, and a fit of wasabi-based rage.
Massachusetts resident John McGuinness’s girlfriend was driving home the 22-year-old when a fight broke out between the two.
After he was dropped off, McGuiness called his girlfriend and threatened to destroy a $200 pair of pants of hers that were at his house.
When the girlfriend drove back to his house to confront him about the threat, she found him standing outside of his property, holding her $200 pants, which were doused in green wasabi sauce, according to a CBS report. He promptly threw the burning pants at her face.
Police responded soon after.
In addition to attacking her with the pants, McGuinness went on to pour wasabi on her car, reported police Sgt. Sean Sweeney to WBZ NewsRadio 1030 in Boston.
McGuinness was charged with domestic assault and battery, intimidation of a witness, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The girlfriend, after dousing her eyes with some water, reported no injuries.
