Texas Man Kills Man Allegedly Molesting Daughter

A Texas man killed a man he caught sexually assaulting his four-year-old daughter during a social gathering at the family’s home on Saturday.

Sheriff Micah Harmon told CNN that the father was casually acquainted with the alleged abuser, whose name is being withheld until a next of kin is notified.

The man allegedly found the young girl after she went back inside the family’s house while the rest of the party was outside looking at horses.

When the father returned to the house he found the man “in the act” of abusing his daughter and stopped him but striking him in the head several times, Harmon said.

The alleged abuser was pronounced dead at the scene and the daughter was taken to a local hospital in Victoria, Texas for examinations. Harmon described the girl as “OK besides the obvious mental trauma.”

It is sill unknown whether or not the father will be indicted.

“You have a right to defend your daughter. He acted in defense of his third person,” Harmon said, adding that the father as “very remorseful” and claims that he didn’t intend to kill the man.

Once the investigation is complete in about six weeks the police will submit their findings to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury. The grand jury will ultimately decide whether the father faces charges, or if his actions constitute reasonable defense of his daughter.
