Country-Western Party

A Country-Western party will be hosted by the Nassau & Queens Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 3 p.m. The party will be held in the Parish Hall of the Church of St Jude, 3606 Lufberry Ave., Wantagh. The facility is completely accessible. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children under 16, and includes food, beverages, music and line dancing lessons. Bethpage Federal Credit Union partners on the presentation of Sweet Charity. Based on Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria screenplay, it tells the story of Times Square Dance Hall performer Charity Hope Valentine and her romantic ups and downs. Performances until Oct. 28. Free Veterinary Lectures

Once a month beginning in September through December, Long Island Cat Fanciers sponsors free lectures given by top local veterinarians on topics relevant to dog and cat owners. •Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. •Meet The Doctors. Focusing on education, Premiere OBGYN will sponsor a Meet the Doctors program on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at 79 Froelich Farm Blvd., Woodbury. Women who are planning a pregnancy or are already expecting can join Drs. Prince, Brooks and Flynn and have their questions answered on conception and a safe pregnancy.
