It’s about 3 a.m. Nov. 7, the morning after Election Night 2012, and although there are still several Long Island races that are too close to call or will be decided by as-yet-uncounted absentee ballots, here are the latest Unofficial Results from the Nassau and Suffolk County Board of Elections (again, this is an Unofficial and near-complete list, meaning these tallies can change, and this list does not include judicial races; hey it’s about 3 in the morning!):

 

U.S. PRESIDENT

Barack Obama won re-election for president of the United States, trumping his GOP challenger Mitt Romney.

 

U.S. SENATE

Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand beat her Republican opponent Wendy Long.

 

U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Democratic Congressman Tim Bishop defended his seat against GOP challenger Randy Altschuler.

GOP Congressman Peter King was victorious over his Democratic challenger Vivianne Falcone.

Democratic Congressman Steve Israel beat GOP hopeful Stephen Labate.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy, a Democrat, was victorious over her Republican challenger Francis X. Becker, Jr.

Democratic Congressman Gregory Meeks trumped his GOP opponent Allan Jennings.

 

NEW YORK STATE SENATE

Republican Assemblyman Phil Boyle defeated his Democratic challenger Suffolk County Legis. Rick Montano for Owen Johnson’s former seat.

Republican state Sen. Carl Marcellino beat out Democratic hopeful David Wright.

GOP New York State Sen. Kemp Hannon’s race against Democrat Ryan Cronin remains too close to call.

Republican state Sen. Jack Martins’ contest against Democratic challenger Daniel Ross is also too close to call.

Republican state Sen. Dean Skelos beat his Democratic challenger Thomas Feffer.

Republican state Sen. Kenneth LaValle beat his Democratic opponent Bridget Flemming.

Republican state Sen. Lee Zeldin beat Democratic challenger Frank Genco.

 

NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLY

GOP Assemblyman Joseph Saladino trumped his Democratic challenger Jay Cherlin.

Democratic Assemblyman Charles Levine defeated his GOP opponent Louis Imbroto.

Republican Assemblyman David McDonough beat Democratic hopeful John Brooks.

Assemblyman Michael Montesano, a Republican, was victorious against Mario Ferone, a Democrat.

Democratic Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel won against her GOP challenger Richard Steik.

Republican Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt beat Democrat Kevin Brady.

Democratic Assemblywoman Earlene Hooper crushed GOP challenger Elton McCabe.

Republican Assemblyman Edward Ra defeated Democratic challenger Gary Port.

Longtime Democratic Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg trumped GOP challenger David Sussman.

GOP Assemblyman Brian Curran beat his Democratic challenger Jeffrey Friedman.

Democrat Michaelle Solages trumped Republican hopeful Sean Wright for the 22nd state Assembly district.

Republican Assemblyman Daniel P. Losquadro beat his Democratic challenger Nicholas Deegan.

Republican Andrew Garbarino defeated Democrat Christopher Bodkin.

Democrat Fred Thiele, Jr.ran unopposed and won.

Republican Dean Murray beat Democrat Edward Hennessey.

Democrat Steven Englebright beat Republican Deborah McKee.

Republican Alfred C Graf beat Democrat Victor E Salamone.

Democrat Phil Ramos beat Republican Manuel Troche.

Republican Michael J Fitzpatrick beat Democrat Jesse A Safer.

Republican Chad A Lupinacci beat Democrat Joe Dujmic.

Democrat Robert Sweeney beat Republican Rashad Cureton.

Andrew P Raia, a Republican, ran unopposed and won.

 

NASSAU COUNTY LEGISLATURE

Republican Michael Venditto beat Democrat Joanne Maglione for the late GOP Legis. Peter Schmitt’s seat.

 

BROOKHAVEN TOWN SUPERVISOR

Republican Ed Romaine beat Democratic hopeful Brian Beedenbender.
