As if the Garden City High School football team winning the Long Island Championship wasn’t enough, along comes Bethany LeSueur. Not only did the hoopster become the state’s No. 2 all-time scorer having hoisted up 3,167 points but she led her team to three New York State Final Fours, was named Miss New York State Basketball and wound up with a stellar 121-12 record during her time as a Lady Trojan. So is it any surprise that her number 23 was recently retired? It’s the kind of well-deserved honor that has the Garden City Life wishing her congratulations and best wishes for her future hardwood endeavors.
