Student To I-SWEEEP Competition

Andrew Lee, a junior at Herricks High School, has been announced as a 2013 finalist in the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, Environment Project Olympiad (I-SWEEEP).  He will compete in Houston, Texas from May 8–12.

 

Lee’s project is entitled, “Design and Control of an Expressive Robotic Head for Human-Robot Interaction Research.”  He completed his research at NYU- Polytechnic University.  He is the son of Linda and KaKwe Lee of Albertson.  Mrs. Renee Barcia, Herricks High School Science Research teacher, mentored Andrew.  

 

I-SWEEEP is a unique international science fair because it focuses on energy, engineering, and environmental projects. The goal of I-SWEEEP goal is to spark interest and awareness on our planet’s sustainability challenges and it encourages high school students to seek alternative solutions for a sustainable world.
