Captain Joseph Elias Mack, USMC, passed peacefully from natural causes at the Togus VA in Augusta, Maine on the morning of Friday, May 31, 2013. Joe, formally of Bayville, husband of the late Gladys M. Mack, is survived by his daughter Pam Cabañas of Friendship, Maine; his cherished grandson Elias Cabañas and his wife Yasmin both of Astoria, New York.
Joe Mack, graduated Dewitt Clinton High School, Bronx , a naval aviator (VMSB-142) during WWII, studied architecture at NYU and Columbia University, a practicing architect, devotee of Frank Lloyd Wright, general contractor, pilot, founder of Sound Air Aviation , and always devoted to his family.
Joe’s love of flying served him well as he soared to the heavens on silver wings.
