A 69-year-old woman was fatally struck by a truck while crossing a street in her hometown of Valley Stream on Friday morning.

Nassau County police said Suzanne Fairhurst was crossing South Central Avenue when she was hit by an International truck that was making a left turn onto West Merrick Road at 8 a.m.

The victim suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 27-year-old man driving the truck was not injured.

Fourth Squad detectives impounded the truck but found no criminality.
