It’s October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That means it’s also time to host and support the Pink Lemonade Stands for Breast Cancer Charity Event in Port Washington. This is the 10th year of the event and it has raised $55,000 in Port, sponsors say.
If residents, children, neighbors or friends would like to host a pink lemonade stand, please contact Debbie Levine at MLevine336@aol.com and she will provide all the supplies. All proceeds benefit the Young Survival Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated specifically to the needs of young women under 40 with breast cancer through education, support and advocacy for research.
Alternatively, residents can donate to the cause by stopping by one of the many local lemonade stands this October or by making a donation to Young Survival Coalition and mailing it to Debbie Levine, 73 Ivy Way, Port Washington, NY 11050, or visiting www.youngsurvival.org.
