Stanley Goldfarb, 86, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 14. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara; incredible father of Janice, Alan, and Nancy; wonderful father-in-law of Leslie, Sue and Michael; fantastic grandfather of Aaron, Ariele, Claire, Jack, Rachel, and Sarah (Tony); and proud great-grandfather of Vaughn.
Stan, a 50-year resident of Great Neck (first residing at 45 Strathmore Road and then 100 South Middle Neck Road), is still remembered as the owner of Port of Call, a local gift store that was enormously popular in the 1970s. Stan was for decades an active member of Temple Israel, community theater, and numerous organizations and clubs. In September 2013, Stan was honored in Washington, D.C. for his service in WWII by Honor Flight Long Island. He lived a long and active life, filled with theater, travel, music and most important of all, friends and family who adored him.
